Spring collections will be hitting the stores, which means its time to do some spring-cleaning for your wardrobe and check out some new styles.
For your ease, we’ve rounded up the top five looks from the Spring 2015 runways.
1. 1970’s Inspired
Hippie inspired looks were big on the runways for Spring, with many designers’ collections looking like they came right out of the closets of Joni Mitchell and Marianne Faithful. Do it right:add a modern piece to mix it up, like a structured oxford shirt or sleek metal jewelry.
Fashion challenge: Stay warm, stay stylish. Can it be done? We’ve rounded up the most popular looks for you.
1. Collarless Coat
The collarless coat is exactly what it sounds like, and is a different take on a more traditional look. It’s elegant, classy, and polished with a bit of 60’s vibe which makes it perfect for both day-to-day wear: work and going out.
This past Sunday was the 72nd annual Golden Globe award show, which signals the start of the 2015 award show season. Here are five of our favorite looks from the red carpet and why.
To apply these looks to your everyday wardrobe, remember the key: BALANCE!
1. Amal Alamuddin Clooney in Christian Dior Haute Couture
Amal Alamuddin Clooney is still relatively new to the red carpet, but she always seems to be dressed top notch. Amal stood out in a sleek black gown amidst the crowd of sequins and embellishments. This was a great choice so as not to overshadow her husband George, who recieved the Cecil B. Demille lifetime achievement award. The elbow length white gloves and fabric trailing over her shoulder added glamour and drama. It was balanced by the simple cut of the dress, and the understated black color.
Resolutions are hard to keep and are often broken by February, so we’ve come up with three fashion habits that are low pressure and don’t require too much overwhelm. They’ll help break your style ruts, and keep your wardrobe and life exciting and renewed.
1. Clean Out Your Closet
Closet full of clothes and nothing to wear? Time to clean out your closet. Evaluate what is there. See what you have, what you need, and what you want to get rid of.
2. Try a new trend

Every season and year brings an onslaught of new trends to try out. While you don’t want to try them all out at once, and chances are you wont like them all, picking and choosing a few of them is a great way to keep your wardrobe fresh. BUT BE RUTHLESS. Choose the ones that make you feel good and fit with your lifestyle.
3. Cultivate your mindset
What is your brand? How do you want to feel? What look really inspires you? Being decisive about these things means that you accept that this is your life, and you’re actively creating it the way you want. Don’t let others tell you who you are, or how you should dress. Be the woman or man you want to be, and start finding pieces that really resonate with who you are, and how you want to show up in the world.
Have you ever listened to what other people told you your style should be? If so, what happened?
Which of these habits will you implement today? I’d love to hear about it in the comments section!
