Our beliefs are always influencing our thoughts, feelings and behavior. Unconsciously they affect us as well. In order to leverage our beliefs, we can become self-aware so that we attune our beliefs on success to what we believe is true. Ultimately, we are what we believe. And what we hold true about ourselves contributes to who we are.

Of course you don’t want to look bad, so I thought it would be interesting to give you feedback on what makes someone look really bad visually… Are you making these mistakes?
Nobody is perfect. This list can seem really mean, critical or rude, but it’s just pure honesty. When you acknowledge something is out of place, you can fix it. That’s when your road to progress appears.
Please note, this list is just visuals… there are a host of other topics I could potentially put on a similar list expanding outside of visuals.

Although I have a job, I’m on a tight budget, but fashion is something that means a lot to me because it’s how I market myself. I’m only 19 but I find myself wanting more expensive, quality pieces in my wardrobe and most importantly to get rid of all of the less expensive pieces that take up space. What can I do to make that transition into a more mature wardrobe and getting rid of all my teenage pieces? Over the past couple years I’ve grown my business, I’ve noticed that when I’m in a flow, I’m the most productive. It’s like the world stands still, and all I can think about is the moment. …Enjoying the process.
But it’s hard to get in the flow. Extremely hard. For starters, procrastination has challenged me consistently. Not only in business but in many aspects of life as well. Most of us go through life waiting for the “time to be right” to start doing something worthwhile.
I’ve learned not to wait. The time will never be “just right”. I’ve learned to start where I stand, and work with whatever tools I may have. Better tools can be found as I go along.
Additionally, most of us are good “starters” but poor “finishers” of everything we begin. People are prone to give up at the first signs of defeat. As a restless Gemini, I’ve experienced this firsthand numerous times. I’ll start a project and then put it down or forget about it. However, I’ve learned that there’s no substitute for persistence.
Taking procrastination and lack of persistence by the neck, I’ve brought these two morale-wreckers to light. Of course they happen naturally, and I forgive myself when they do, but I’ve noticed the best way to get in the flow again is to acknowledge they’re rearing they’re ugly heads, and do something about it.

So many people I’ve talked to lately have told me they’re in a style rut. They often times have a closet full of awesome clothing, but find themselves wearing the same things over and over.
They want to know what they can do to get back to A) their normal selves and B) have a more creative presence.
I think we’ve all been in a style rut at some point. I’ve certainly been there. I’ve worn the same “uniform” over and over again for a couple weeks straight, changing it up slightly on the occasion.
Consistently working on our presence takes focus and attention. Consistency is often an indication of our current priorities. It’s not a bad thing if you’re in a rut. Just take note, and shift your mindset into consciously creating a presence you love!
If you feel you’re in a style rut, the acknowledgement is half the battle. Kudos to you!

How do you define power?
Can you recall a time where you made something happen? You got into a school, you passed a difficult exam, your contributions were published, you finished a marathon, or you made the cut on a team or got hired from multiple job interviews.

I only pass along information and habits that I know will benefit you. So I want to share an experience that enhanced my thinking and life, and could definitely enhance yours too, for the better.
A book was recommended to me by a few of my clients. After the third client mentioned it, I figured it was a sign, and had to read it. Now I see why. The author’s values parallel my philosophy:
Whenever I help organize my client’s closets, I always tell them to put on one side all the items that they LOVE. Take note why you love it. Is it the cut? color? fabric? Write it down. Then I ask, which pieces do you hate or that just get you by? Discard these items.
Make sure whenever you’re shopping or looking for new pieces that you revert back to why you loved the items you LOVED, and replicate that feeling.
But reading this book took my wardrobe philosophy to a whole other level: the HOME.
So much so, that this past week I’ve put the book to use, and turned my home upside down, and then right side up (with my husband’s patience of a saint).
“The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” is a quick and easy read about eradicating clutter to enjoy the finer things in life. The author, a Japanese woman named Marie Kondo, discusses how to “tidy”.
One important thing to note is that Marie’s method has yielded zero rebound clients. Her magic? She says tidying consists of two things: discarding and storing. Discarding comes first, and then storing. It must be in that order. When discarding, focus ONLY on keeping things that “spark joy in your life”. Really ask yourself, “Does this spark joy in my life?”. Then store. But remember, storage is not the solution.
Too often, we focus on what we need to get rid of, rather than ONLY what we want to keep. When you change your focus to keeping ONLY the things that make you happy, and spark joy, your life becomes more streamlined.
Kondo goes into detail on how to go about tidying: clump your tidying into categories (such as ALL clothing or ALL paperwork), and the order of categories you tackle really makes a difference, too: Start with easy things that can replicated such as your wardrobe, and leave the things that are rare, one-of-a-kind and very personal, such as sentiments and photos till the end. She talks about how to store anything from socks to your essential paperwork, and even gives tips on how to deal with gifts from people, and how to enter your home.
Tidying should NOT be a daily, habitual, or routine thing. It should happen only once, and that’s it.
I highly recommend you invest in yourself and read this book. I’m not getting anything for promoting it… just a good feeling for recommending something I agree wholeheartedly with.
My experience after tidying? I feel like a new person… like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I wish only the same for you too.
